Blauw detecteerbare pleisters, cateringpleisters, worden veel gebruikt in de voedselbereiding, van broodjeszaken tot slagerijen, taartfabrikanten en grootschalige, in massa geproduceerde voedsellijnen. De pleisters worden direct gedetecteerd vanwege hun blauwe kleur (er zijn geen natuurlijke voedingsproducten die blauw zijn) maar ook vanwege een aluminiumfolie onder het wondkussen die kan worden gedetecteerd door metaaldetectoren.
